Homecoming- April 6, 10:30a.m.

I’m happy to see my children excited and working hard to invite people to our Homecoming this Sunday, April 6. I think we’ll have at least one visitor spending the night with us on Saturday and possibly another one that we will be bringing on Sunday as well. Let it be contagious! If we are all serious about seeing the Lord Jesus Christ impact our loved ones, invite them to church where they will hear the gospel……the old, old story of Jesus and His love! Bless you all for getting those invitations out. If haven’t made any phone calls or given any invitations yet, fortunately you still have time to rise to the occasion. I believe there are many people out there in our families who need to be in church and God may be working on their end…….and all they’re waiting for is an invitation from you. Sometimes it’s easy to say, “But there’s no use inviting them……I’ve invited them a million times and they won’t come.” God may have changed their situation since the last time you invited them. You just never know. Don’t be detoured. I’m praying earnestly for you all, and for our church.

Love in Christ,
Pastor Vern

Homeless Experience Testimonies

On Saturday night, March 29, a group from our church spent a cold rough night on the streets of Kingsport. This video contains the testimonies of each person in the group. We came in to church on Sunday morning having not slept. Melissa starts the service off in a lively fashion…..I think she knew we’d need a wake up call. I hope you enjoy these testimonies of our “Homeless Experience.” It was an eye-opening night for all of us.

Homeless Experience 2014 Update

UPDATE on The Homeless Experience 2014:

The Lord has laid it upon the heart of Bro. Quentin Reynolds to have a prayer vigil at the church on Saturday night (March 29) for the folks who can’t go on the homeless experience. Now the whole church can actively participate. We will meet at the church at 8p.m. Those going to spend the night on the street will leave the church soon after, while others can stay at the church and pray. The Spirit will lead. There may be singing, testifying, Bible study, but prayer will be held at least once every hour. Bring blankets, pillows, snacks if you like (for the vigil group only) and stay as long or as short as you like. I’m more excited now than ever before about what God is doing through all of this. I look forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do. Help us spread the word about this prayer vigil, please.

Folks from other congregations are welcomed and encouraged to come to the vigil as well.

Love in Christ,

Pastor Vern
