Sometimes even preachers, deacons, and church members blaspheme the name of God in the community by their careless, carnal, worldy, and unfaithful lives. After nearly 9 years as a preacher, I know of no greater attribute, no more of a noble characteristic for a child of God to possess than to be found FAITHFUL. A steady, week-by-week, day-to-day Christain life, as far as I’m concerned, is one of… the most noble attributes and one of the greatest virtues a church member could cultivate and could set forth to a wicked and gainsaying generation. On the other hand, I have known church members who claim to know God and who go to church on Sunday morning, but their lives on the job, in the community, and even in the church, are just about as worldly, carnal, and unfaithful as a person who lays no claim to any kind of religion. As a result, sometimes the name of God is blasphemed among unsaved people because of a shabby, inconsistent, and unfaithful life. It ought not be this way.
“Moreover is is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” – 1 Corinthians 4:2
