There are some who choose to base their morality on the teachings of the Bible without believing that Jesus ever really existed. There are yet others who choose to base their morality on the teachings of the Bible while believing that a historical Jesus did in fact exist, but he was not divine. There are yet others who reject the Bible as immoral altogether and base their morality on secular humanism. I say the Bible is the inspired Word of Almighty God, and believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of the Father full of grace and truth. I believe He is divine and made claims to be, and approach morality with this in view.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Some practical truths that are also helpful in Christian apologetics: An argument is a very simple thing. It has 2 parts. First, you make a claim. Secondly, you seek to support that claim. If all you do is make a claim without support for it then you’re just giving an unsupported opinion. If you support your argument well…you have a good argument. If you make mistakes or your premises do not support your conclusion, or you engage in faulty reasoning called fallacies, then your argument will crash and burn.
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the revival meeting last night. I think we had a good service and it was well attended. I was blessed to be there and believe God was glorified. I’m hoping we’ll see some folks tonight who didn’t make it last night. God bless and be encouraged.
I would like to invite everyone to the Brush Arbor Revival tonight at New Victory Baptist Church in Jonesborough. I will be preaching at 7p.m. and Melissa will be singing. Last night’s service was a great blessing. Hope to see you there. The address is 527 Conklin Road.
Love in Christ,
Due to the weather and rainy conditions our Fall Festival will be postponed. When a new date and time is set we will make that info available.
Today’s Friends and Family Day was wonderful. It was probably one of our best ever. We only wish we could find the words and time to go around and thank every individual person for their efforts in making the day such a blessing. The Doutts were a great blessing today, and we have some really great cooks at our church, some of whom cook like they’re feeding an army! So thank you all. First and foremost, I want to thank the Lord for meeting with us in the service. The Spirit of God was in the midst and I trust needs were met and lives were blessed. The Lord has truly blessed us today with his bountiful hand…..in more ways than one.
